Coming home is hard after vacation.
Not the actual coming home, because I'm all about sleeping in my own bed with my own pillow and my own blankie, and Heaven knows I was so excited to see my babies...
but...
Have Mercy....the laundry. And the errands. And the cooking. And the cleaning. And the children evidently did not forget how to fight while I was gone (as I had so hoped while I was holed up in my bamboo infested hotel room).
I don't believe in the Google Reader, as many of you know, but I don't have to have a Reader to tell me how behind I am on all my blogeeps' bizness. I feel so out of the loop. And I can't stand to be left out.
My heart is still heavy from burdens that some friends and family members are carrying, and helplessness does not become me. I'm a doer. And a fixer. And though I know that prayer REALLY is enough, sometimes I just feel like my hands are tied as to what to do.
So, I'm reeling.
My mind is in a thousand different places.
My house has been hit by the Great Suitcase Tornado of June '09, and it seems as though the dirty clothes multiply as fast as I get some of them washed.
And my refrigerator is full of nothing except fishsticks, hot dogs, and a couple of cans of my dad's Diet Lemon Tea that he forgot to take with him.
I may or may not get to the store.
I may or may not get my laundry done.
And I may have to just ask you all to forgive me on the blog reading and just start fresh. (If I had a Google Reader, I'd contemplate hitting "Mark All As Read.")
Because I'm tired.
And though vacations are amazing....
Home is better. And I somehow need to find mine under all the chaos.

I'm with you, sister. Coming home is CRAZY and so stressful. It took me three days to get to the store and the kids are still staying there's no food in the house. Ugh, just eat cereal! Again!
I do believe in the google reader, and I marked all as read just to save myself. But I hated doing it, and I feel bad. I feel left out of my friend's lives, even though it's because I've been away and not them. I think this is just inevitable for summertime. So many people are traveling and busy with life that it's hard to stay connected like usual.
Do what ya gotta do girlie!
It's okay and we've all been there or WILL be there...you're just suffering from a little PVD (post vacation distress).
One thing at a time sister..laundry is RARELY if EVER caught up..so just do a load and move on...
Hang in there, JB...you're body and mind will adjust in no time!
Just take it one pile at a time and know that it will all get done sooner or later.
I'm so jealous of your vacation!
Yep...as Kristin and Tiff say...one load at a time. And we'll all be here when you have a moment. Repeat after me: Blogging is fun and is my hobby. I do not have to feel guilty about it.
You're welcome. xxxooo
How did you get into my brain? Seriously, I almost posted a very, very similar post(minus the fish sticks-but I like them)today..complete with the.same.title.
I say...take some deep breaths, relax, maybe watch the Bachelorette tonight? The laundry can sit, the suitcases can sit,the blog catching up can wait :) Easy for me to say right? Thinking out loud here :)
I love ya! Just call me if you need me.
I have been home for almost TWO WEEKS now, and I am still not caught up with everything. So hard to get back in the swing of things. And at the end of vacation is when I hate my Google Reader the most - 400+ posts staring me in the face.
Hang in there girl, you'll get there. And actually fishsticks sound quite good to me right now - haven't had them in years.
Girl . . . I'm so far behind on blog reading . . and I haven't been on vacation. Go take care of your family . . . all else can wait. I hope Glenda (good witch from Wizard of Oz) visits your house and washes, dries, folds, and puts away all of your laundry for you . . . while you are sleeping!
Oh re-entry is so hard! Especially when it requires laundry!
Hey there! ITs been awhile since i've stopped by, hope everything is going great!
I'm with ya, girlfriend! It almost makes it not worth leaving...almost.
I still haven't started packing. Of course, I still haven't unpacked from Nashville so it's all good.
Bring some to me!! I'll do it for ya!!
