Spring Break has officially started.
And I'm doing exactly what it ordered....I'm breaking. For sure.
Friday, after school, I played. I went to a baseball game, visited with good friends, and ate pizza at the Pizza Shack (also known as Heaven On Earth around my house). There was that minor detail of forgetting Sawyer's birthday, but I'm not dwelling on that. Anymore. I went to bed that night without even so much as throwing a glance in the direction of my laundry room, and I was perfectly fine with it.
Saturday, soccer games consumed our morning. I got in trouble for visiting with Steph throughout one entire game, and apparently I missed Sawyer's "amazing, awesome, beautiful" goal. I explained that I had important bizness to attend to.....none of my men bought it.
I had big plans to clean my oh-so-nasty house Saturday afternoon. Didn't happen. What did happen was a super long nap. I did get up and clean the kitchen and wash one load of laundry, but then I went right back to the couch. I was on vacation. And cleaning is overrated anyway.
So I made huge plans to make my house spotless today after church. I'm leaving on my girly vacation tomorrow, and it would probably come in handy if my family had clean underwear and my house didn't smell like dirty feet when we come home.
But, alas, I spent the afternoon on the couch again. And now I am staring at the clock face and realizing that it is 7:00. No laundry done. Bathrooms are gross. Floors need mopping. Furniture needs dusting. Suitcases need packing.
So Spring Break is here. And so far I have managed to use 2 days of it to do a.b.s.o.l.u.t.e.l.y. n.o.t.h.i.n.g.
Sounds like a great vacation to me!!!!
(On a totally unrelated note....I have another confession. After all my drama with forgetting Sawyer's birthday, I realized that I missed one of my best friends in the whole wide world's birthday, too. What is wrong with me?! I'm losing it. Absolutely losing it. I'm surprised they haven't taken away my license to own children and friends.)

I am T-totally with ya....cleaning is OVERRATED!!!!
I'm dying to know where ya'll are going!
And if you missed Leanne's birthday, then SO DID I! When was it???
I think it sounds like you are starting your vacation perfect!!
A girly vacation? I am so jealous! My Spring Break destination is to the bottom of the boys' closet with a layover in my storage building. Can you say "delay?"
Lay on the couch and take the kids out for meals in bags. Saves on dishwater and thus saves the planet (I'm combining comments today since I was gone over the weekend.)
Have fun on your vacation and be safe!!
Good for you! The laundry and house will be there when you get back! Why clean it now? It won't be clean when you return! Delay!!!
