10 On The 10th

So my good buddy, Meredith, had an ingenious idea for bloggy block...for at least one day of the month. Because I'm a frequent bloggy block victim, I'm forever indebted to Mrs. Life At 7000 Feet.

(If you want to play along, jet on over here for details.)

So here are my 10 on the 10th.....

My Ten Favorite Chick Flicks That I Love To Torture My Husband With

10. Anne of Green Gables -- My memories of these movies go way back to when they first came out on The Disney Channel way back in the day. I adore everything about it. And I was convinced that I was going to marry Gilbert Blythe one day. I love the way he says, "Sore-ry."

9. Sweet Home Alabama -- Could anybody be more perky and cute than Reece Witherspoon? I heart her.

8. The Wedding Date -- This movie has a crazy little plot line, but there is something about it that makes me want to watch it over and over and over.

7. Legally Blonde -- No need to explain. Any movie with that much pink is fantastic.

6. Titanic -- "I'll never let go, Jack. I'll never let go." Just scoop me up with a shovel...I turn to mush every time.

5. Romeo and Juliet -- I know, hokey, right? But I really do love this gang-banger, gun-toting version of Shakespeare's classic.

4. Chicago -- Terribly raunchy, but terribly wonderful.

3. A Lot Like Love -- This movie makes me all kinds of giddy. I think Ashton Kutcher is adorable, and I think Amanda Peet is beautiful. And this movie is quirky enough that it makes me smile.

2. The Notebook -- Oh my. There are not enough Kleenexs in the world for me when I watch this movie. I love it down to my toes.

1. Pride and Prejudice -- Mr. Darcy is, well, absolute perfection. When he comes walking across that field, my heart does all kinds of crazy stuff. I could watch this movie every day for the rest of my life and be as happy as a clam.

I think it is time to torture Kirk with a movie night.....

Oh my Anne of Green Gables! I used to teach middle school English and Reading and this was my favorite novel to have the kids read! Then we would watch the movie! I'd sit and watch it 6 times a day, with each and every class. LOL

You had me at Pride and Prejudice. Sweet shades of smokin' hotness when he walks across the field at the end of the movie. I WATCH IT ALL THE TIME. ALONE. So I can soak up all the deliciousness.

I seriously love that movie.

You have bewitched me body & soul, and I love, love, love you.
*SWOON*

Okay, now I have to watch that this weekend! I own it, and could watch it every day, too.

Also love Sweet Home Alabama. No fair she got to pick between Patrick Dempsey & Josh Lucas!

And Anne with an "e"...good stuff!

Well sis, you already know what I'm going to say... thanks for being my "kindred spirit" and helping me torture the guys with "Mr. Darcy." There is nothing better than a little payback for all the kung fu, alien, wrestling "junk" they torture us with... in fact, I know they will never admit it to the world, but I really don't think they mind the girl flicks as much as they say they do.

Watch a girl flick on me today! You certainly deserve it!
Hope the babies are better! Love ya!

Oh! I just borrowed the Anne movies from my library a few weeks ago and watched it again - oh the memories. One of my all time favorites - and yes! I love the way he says sore-ey too! And back in the day, I would've fought you for Gilbert. ;)

I'm a big fan of Reece Witherspoon, so I love anything with her in it. I've seen (and love) most of these, but there are a few I haven't - so thanks for the ideas!

You have a beautiful blog!

Loved this post! Some I haven't seen so now I'll have to watch them. Anne of Green Gables is one of my favorite movies period! Such spunk!

Favorite funny chick flicks are Sweet Home Alabama and How to Lose a Guy in 10 days.

Favorite sappy chick flicks are P&P (Mr. Darcy just melts my heart!), The Notebook, and A Walk in the Clouds.

You have several on your list that I haven't watched! My husband will be SO excited! ;)

To his credit, he gave me the Anne of Green Gables DVDs for Christmas. Such wonderful memories of those movies! My college roommate and I were to cheap for cable so we'd run movies 24/7 on our DVD. Our two favorites that we kept in continuous play were the Anne movies and Gone With the Wind. I can quote most of those movies but I still love to sit and watch them for hours! Fun post!!

I'm lucky enough to have a hubby that loves chick flix as much as I do. Actually, I think it's Meg Ryan that he loves but that's another story.

I know why I like you, Amber. I own most of these movies. I would add to your list...You've Got Mail and Sleepless in Seattle. Oh, and How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days. If you agree that those are fabulous too, then you'll be my friend forever!

Thanks for playing along!!

Love,

Amber, great choices! And many which i'll have to add to my collection! My fave chick flicks are (really anything with Hugh Grant) Love Actually, and Steel Magnolias. My husband leaves for China again in 10 days. Suffice to say, I'll be busy each night after the kids go down. :)

I haven't seen every one but most on your list. Love Anne of Green Gables. I just recently got it and can't wait to watch it with my daughter.

Pride and Prejudice with Colin Firth is THE BEST version! That's one I'll swoon over. That and the movie of Phantom of the Opera. But I may have to rethink your friend status if you dare to put Gilbert and Anne as number 10!!!

Oh, I love all of those movies...especially the Anne movies!!!

Fabulous choices all the way! I've been watching Anne of Green Gables with my daughter and she loves it more than I do. Pride and Prejudice will never get old. And The Notebook is my husband's least favorite movie of all time, so of course I make him watch it at least once a year!

My husband will actually watch Anne with me ... on occasion and not often! but loves the British stuff like P&P. Some of those others he would definitely draw the line!

Fun list!
