Feeding the Fellas

This morning I made scrambled eggs for the family.  I used an entire carton of 18 eggs.  18 eggs!

I make 3 boxes of Hamburger Helper at a time.  And there aren't leftovers.

Spaghetti takes 3 lbs. of ground beef and one of those Minnesota sized boxes of noodles.

A whole box of cereal...gone in a day.

A bag of chips or tube of Pringles?  Gone with one lunch.

Grilled cheese sandwiches for the family take one loaf of bread and an entire package of 24 slice cheese.

3 gallons of milk sit in my refrigerator at all times.

A box of fruit snacks?  Fuhgetaboudit.  Gone in an hour.

One box of fishsticks...doesn't make it past one meal.  Sometimes have to bust open a second box.  You think I'm kidding.

Entire box of pancake mix for one breakfast.  Add an entire bottle of syrup.

Seriously?

And the oldest one only weighs 70 pounds.

Heaven help us when we have an 18 year old, a 16 year old, and a 14 year old in the house.  My checkbook is already nervous.

You didn't tell how much mac and cheese you go through in a week. :)

Love ya!

Miss you and those hungry men to pieces.

Well, I've fed the fellas before but only for a short time...long term, yikes on me old wallet.

BUT, I'd feed them all again in a skinny minute! (ha!)

In fact, can't wait til I do!!!

I seriously would die with that kind of grocery budget. Mine is already climbing but thankfully JuJu still eats like a bird (unless it's a Little Debbie).

You are preachin' to the choir!! I thought they had to hit their teens before it got like this. Someone has been holding out on us!

Heaven help you indeed! I don't know how you're going to do it girl! I'm going to go into my kitchen now, look in my pantry and do the happy dance because I'm not you! Just kidding. Count your blessings sweety, even if they are eating you out of house and home while you're counting!

Wow! Keep on feeding those hungry boys. Neeley's appetite kind of comes and goes, and she's a girl, so I can't imagine! :) You're one GREAT mama!!

I know exactly what you mean! My 16 year old boy eats everything he can find. I think he eats dinner 3x in a night. And my 6 year old boy isn't far behind!

Amb,
Now, let's see! What's the alternative to feeding time at the rascal zoo? Growls of hungry jacks, right? Dispositions out of control, like they are not already, right? So, what can you do? One suggestion. Open up a grocery store and put the characters to work stocking and checking. I'd shop there!

Happy cookin', daughter!

Wow, that's a lot of food. The upside might be they aren't picky eaters.

You'd be rich if you didn't have to feed them. ;)

I hear ya! Don't let them fool you into thinking it's only because of the male gender. All 3 of our eat us out of house and home ... and then complain that their jeans are too loose. How does that work???

Don't tell anyone, but I've turned into my mother: I have a secret stash of "mommy snacks" because there are never any left when I have a snack attack.

You know, you could stretch your menu with some homegrown vegetables. ;-)

Oh. my. word!

I can't imagine what your grocery bill will become! They will all have to get part time jobs to supplement their grocery consumption in the teen years!

In the words of David Cassidy: I think I love you.

It's been lonely, feeling like we're the only house of 4 (or 5, as the case is with you) little pigs. I'm so glad I'm not the only bulk cook. I mean, we might as well live in Costco, because the bulk items for most are everyday servings for us. Snort, snort, squeal.

Point of fact: I've often called my kids to the table by wailing "Sooooeee!" at the top of my voice. Because I am all about glamour and decorum. :)

Wow! I know my Dad was one of three boys and my husband is one of three. I know have a better understanding of what my grandmother and mother-in-law went through!

Which is why I avoid buying fruitsnacks unless I get them for free with couponing...

HOLLA!! (and my youngest one isn't even THREE yet!)

ROLL-Y COW!!!

I'm glad I have girls that eat like birds. Wonder where that expression came from? They don't eat worms.

Also, a heads up--I will be commenting on your 13 most recent posts in reverse order. Because that's how they are in my Google Reader. Don't hate the google reader!
