Demolition Day. Only Thing Missing Was Ty Pennington and His Bullhorn

Oy.

The Great Remodel of Twenty Ten is moving right along.

And by that I mean moving right along into a myriad of other projects.

One of my good friends, CPQ, made a comment about remodeling projects like these being like the book of Numbers...you know. Such and such begat thus and so which begat whose and whats' it.

She was right.  Ridiculously right.

What started with a little paint job has now begat new walls altogether.

Which has begat new flooring.

Which begat new insulation.

Which has now begat a new fireplace makeover.

I'm waiting to see what the fireplace begats.

Here's a few pictures of Demolition Day.

Remind me that I'm excited about this project.

Thanks.

You better be excited! You have a husband who WANTS to do this. Count your blessings!

You are excited!

At least he is actually still working on the project and you didn't get the usual "hubby" phrase of "I can build that...so don't hire someone or buy it!!!"

Hang in there, it is going to be beautiful...one day.

Holy cow. It's reaching Biblical proportions, isn't it?

PS - The words "new flooring" make me giddy.

Amb,
I am totally excited for your "makeover" work. There's something about creating that's in a man's heart to do, and Kirk is a very capable and skilled artisan to accomplish it. I bet he's enjoying himself. Makes me anxious to see the snow and temp come into an outside mode so I can put my nail apron on and create something, too. (By the by, we've been socked-in with snow for a couple of days and more is expected - I'm going to try to get out today to stock up on groc - I'm remembering with a little apprehension - last year's week wihout electricity.)

Well, stay well and "build=away" and we'll look for updated picts.

I'll just bet that Tate and Saw have the "tools" out that they got for Christmas.

As much of a hassle all that is I'm actually jealous of you! What I wouldn't give to have a little work done, including walls knocked down, in my own home. Looking forward to seeing the progress as it goes.
P.S. LOVE your new couch!
