The Best Things Come In 3s

I have about 6 blog posts drafted. And nary a one has been published. Because I just can't seem to get my words out. I don't know if I'm going through a blog funk or what, but my brain and my fingers just can't seem to get their act together.

So...I decided to make a plan. A blog post plan. At least for today.

And I'm limiting myself to 3 categories. Because that seems like good organizational genius.

(The best is the last, but don't you dare scroll through the first 2 in a whacko attempt to beat my system. I have ways of finding out....oh yes I do.)

First on my agenda: A recap of what we've been up to. But I'm going to fill it with lots of eye fodder and go easy on the wordage. You're welcome.

Baseball: Tournament is over. Boys didn't win. Found out that parents are sorer losers than kids. Go figure. Boys had fun. (No pictures....sorry.)

Fourth of July: Spent at the baseball field. And in the car driving to inlaws. Watched fireworks from inside MIL's van in desperate attempt to not be eaten alive by horse-sized Missouri mosquitoes. (No pictures....more sorry.)

Fifth of July: Took 3 hour nap while at MIL's, because I could. Ate homemade icecream...yum. And spent 5 hours in the car with uber-exhausted kids and grouchirific husband. (No pictures....still sorry.)

Sixth of July: Had good intentions to clean my house. Didn't happen. Took a nap and laid around all day. Blissful laziness. Then.....
We headed over to a belated 4th of July party and surprise birthday shindig at some of our besties' house.

Those of us who didn't have to meet our personal trainer at dark o'thirty the next morning ate these.

And those of us who had to meet with the exercise nazi ate these.

I ate 3 hotdogs. If you're wondering which group I was in.

Then we celebrated Lisa's birthday.

And there were even party hats....because every good party needs a party hat....even if they are Transformers because that is all that WM had.

And there was lots of chit-chatting.

And posing for pictures.

And then fireworks outside put on by the master pyrotechnics team of Wes-N-Kirk.

And then, much to the chagrin of our resident doctor friend, we allowed the little people to shoot off their own. The Good Doctor even took pictures of the children doing so...but I'm pretty sure that they were to be used as evidence if/when the need ever arose.

And there was lots of laughing....as always whenever our motley crew gets together!

Happy 6th of July!

Second on my agenda: It's time for ASK AMBER ANYTHING! It's been awhile since I've asked for questions, and since I'm suffering from some minor bloggy blockage, then I'm handing you the reins to spur my posting. So....just leave me a question in the comments about anything your little heart desires, and I'll give it a whirl. (Remember....anything goes....from personal questions to my theory on why MJ wore only one glove.)

Third on my agenda: Because I'm having a day heavy on the BLECH, I'm in the mood for a little pick-me-up. And nothing picks me up more than seeing people I love smile. And because I heart you all so stinkin' much....than it's time to make you smile. And so....IT'S TIME FOR A BLOGGY GIVE-AWAY!!! (See...I told you that I saved the best for last!!)

I was in my local Christian book store the other day and found the most amazing set of bracelets. They are sterling silver, bangle style, and have various designs with Bible verses and words of truth. They are so beautiful, and so wearable with anything.

SO...I picked up one and am going to send it to one of you sweet people. Because I heart ya!!

All you have to do is leave me a comment. (And that should be easy, because you are already asking me a question....right?!) I'll do a random drawing on Friday, July 10, so you have several days to enter. And enter more than once if ya want....I don't mind!

So....there ya have it.

Can't wait to hear from ya!
And thanks for being so patient and wading through all that gobbledygook!

First to comment wins a present for his wife, right? I met the trainer @ dark o'thirty, but still sampled both food groups. Good for you and not so good for you.

So..... why DID MJ wear that glove? Inquiring minds want to know!
(I'll beg off your drawing...just thought I'd throw that in there.)

So glad you had a good holiday weekend with good friends and family. Tell those youngin's of yours that Aunt Jo is proud of them, and I know they did their best.

Luvya loads!

Well, I heart ya AND all your gobbledygook.:)

And I want to know how and when you became a Christian!!

...because I'm fresh out of witty and I think it's an uber important question for those of us who DON'T know.

Ok, here's my question: Would you rather make a big public idiot out of yourself in one night
-OR-
do 50 stupid things all year that only you know about?

And why?

I'm not implying that you have done either one of these, by the way. Just use your imagination! :)

No questions. I've got a headache. I just have bad luck and I want in on a freebie! Maybe I can turn my bad luck around.

BTW, I would have joined you in the hot dogs, too. I love grilled chicken, but when given the choice, grilled hot dogs with ketchup and mustard win every time.

Amb,
I was beginning to think you were so involved in cleaning house - info via FB - that blogging took a proverbial backseat. I've been like a "junkie" needing a "fix" every time I clicked on the "Rascal" channel. Glad you're ok - just needed to crash.

So, a question, huh? Well, I don't need a bracelet - would not have a thing to wear with it. So no go on the drawing, but I will comeback atcha with a little of your own medicine. Don't have a question, but here's AN ANSWER for you:

BABE!

Well, there you are - no "40 cows on a purple mountain with 20 crows eating 40 bushels of corn that smelled like pineapple" kind of an answer. Now, make the question good!

Love you,
Jim-Dad

Cathy said...

Hmmm...did Jim-Dad just mention pineapple???? Cause now I'm cravin' a Pineapple Diet Dr. Pepper. Sheesh.

Mich said...

I've missed you! Glad you had a great weekend.

Hmmm...a question? CAn't say that I have one right now. Although I will enjoy reading the answer to Lisa's. And the question you come up for dad's.

HAve a great day! Love ya!

Oh, and you can take me out of the running for the bracelet, as much as I know I would love it, for your bloggy buddies might strike if your sister was to win.:)

Love ya!

I love jewelry, so I'm in on the drawing.

And on to my question:

Why is Mr. CPQ obsessed with the Honduran elections? He's never visited Honduras and can't even speak Spanish.

Sounds like a lovely holiday! I especially like the nap parts! Seems like those are few and far between lately. We made homemade ice cream too. It was my 2nd time ever to make it and it just didn't turn out near as good as the first time. Oh well, I'm going to keep at it! I love me some homemade vanilla ice cream!

I'm in...bracelets are fun!

my question...Would you say that you are an introvert or an extrovert? An intro w/ extro tendencies? Or an extro w/ intro tendencies?

I'm confusing myself and obviously very chatty cathy today!!

Jessica said...

Yay for grilled hot dogs! I would choose those over most grilled food. a question: Are you a coupon user? That is my reason for a subscription to the sunday paper =)

Jessica said...

Here's my question, because it's been whirling around in my mind for awhile on how we're going to make it happen: How do you all spend the holidays? Especially now that your parents are so far away from each other?

vgrdesigns said...

I am like Jim-Dad...I needed my Rascal "fix!"
Question...Are you still doing the Fly Lady thing?? I never signed up, therefore my house is till a mess...hee hee :)

Jackie said...

As much as I love grilled chicken, sometimes a girl just needs a hotdog. I would have eaten at least 3 right alongside ya.

Here's my question (and those bracelets sound SO cute): Do you have to drop hints to your hubby as to what he should get you for your birthday, Christmas etc., or does he just know you so well that he automatically knows what to get you? And vice versa - do you have a hard time knowing what to get him?

Jennifer said...

Totally would have gone for the hot dogs too!! Especially since I am a Zumba expert now!! NOT!!!

So here's my question...Do you like Zumba or Pilates better?
It's okay if you say neither!! LOL!!

BroJim, if you win the bracelet, you can just send it my way via my dad the next time y'all get together.

Elizabeth said...

Those bracelets are meant for me, I just know it!

My questions: What is the first fight you and your husband ever had after you were married? and What are your primary love languages?

Michele said...

I'm feeling so lucky today. In the words of Donkey from "Shrek", "Pick me, pick me, pick me." I'm on a super tight budget . . . so I'd love to have something new that I didn't have to pay for!

How would you describe the perfect hot dog? Grilled? Steamed? Microwaved? Do you like the bun toasted or warmed in any way? What do you like on your dog? Mustard only ala Clint Eastwood? Relish, sauerkraut, chili, onions?

I'm a little bit relieved that you haven't blogged as much lately because I'm way behind on all my favorite blogs and was afraid you all were having fun here without me!!

Jennifer said...

Just thougt I'd drop by again...Love the bracelet! :)

Cute bracelet! Let's see for a question... Have you always lived in Arkansas? I did read that you're in Ark, right?

Lindsay said...

I like the bracelet too. I've really enjoyed your vacation postings this summer. Any more of those on the horizon or will be be "home bodies" from here on out?

Cathy said...

Another question...
Would you ever consider taking one of your camping trips in BEAUTIFUL Oregon?? What?! It's not that far people.
:)

One more question: What are your thoughts concerning the current crises in Honduras? You know, the grammar and punctuation ones.

Alison said...

Ooo...ooo...ooo...I wanna play to! :-) I've heard that comment one too many times today!

So a question, huh? Ok, here goes. What's your favorite Bible verse and why?

mer@lifeat7000feet said...

How many hot dogs do you think you could eat in 25 minutes?

Have you ever had a black eye?

Have you ever broken a bone?

Do you think you would consider making "Betcha Didn't Know" a carnival like Elizabeth suggested? I think it's a fab idea!

Kendra said...

Still no questions. I just want the bracelet. I'm greedy, I guess.

It's 11:25pm my time so I'm still on time for this..thank goodness I came to KK's where fast internet lives so I could enter!!!

I love faith inspired accessories...a reminder of my sweet Jesus AND looking nice all at the same time...

My question is this: Do you have any special plans in the works for the month of August?? ;)

My question, dearest Amber, since I do in fact suffer from tan envy, is this: What brand and number of SPF do you don whilst basting by the lake?

And do your children fight you off like rabid beasts when trying to apply their sunscreen, or do they cooperate, in hopes of a grilled hot dog as reward?

Terry Lewallen said...

Amber-
Just getting caught up on your rascally world! My world has been pretty rascally lately and I have gotten behind on my bloggin and my blog readin. But looks like I caught up just in chance to win a very fabulous bracelet! That would be super cool. And something from Arkansas to wear way up here in Washington...a little bit of "home".
My question for you: Will you be around for OBU homecoming this fall???? Just booked plane tickets last night. Ten year reunion....WHAT the crazy?????

Michele said...

I hope it's not too late to comment . . . as today is the big day. My arm MUST have this bracelet. Can you hear me screaming over here? You know I have a huge, huge love for accessories. This one would to perfect with my ring that hubs gave me for anniversary .. . in Hebrew it says, "I am my beloveds and he is mine." This ring is awaiting its long-lost friend . . . and it is THIS bracelet, my friend. Please don't make my ring sad by not picking my arm to dangle it from:)

I'm not commenting just to see if I can win the give away...really, I'm not. I'm commenting to send some major kudos you way on that fireworks picture! That's awesome! Did Rosie take that?! Lighting is good. Great focus. Shows motion...VERY impressive!
