Gladitude Monday

I'm joining in Gretchen's fun Monday goodness. Because I like her. And I like being glad. And because I have so much to be glad about.

1) I'm so glad for this little guy.

He turned 5 today. And I can't believe how the time has flown by. It seems like just yesterday that I was badgering my doctor into inducing me early, so that I could meet my little fella. Doc must have got tired of my whining, so he admitted me. And early on May 4, 2004, my little guy became the 3rd rascal in this rascally family. Can't imagine life without our Tater Tot.

Happy Birthday, T!

2) I'm glad for great friends. I've been through seasons in my life when I have felt so alone. When I felt like there was no one that had my back. That everyone was just going through the motions of friendliness because that was the "Christian" thing to do. But, God has blessed me with this season of life. One in which I not only have real life friends that are tremendous women of God that love, care, and bring out the best in me, but that I also have friends in the blogosphere that have inspired me, encouraged me, and have made this big world so much smaller for me. I heart every one of you....big time.

3) I'm glad that summer is only 3 weeks away for our family (only 14 days of school to be exact!). Although I heart cozy sweaters and hiding my unexercised body behind layers in the fall and winter, I am a summer girl through and through. Sunshine makes my skin happy. Flip flops make my feet happy. And lazy days with nowhere to be but the pool make all of me crazy happy. Summer. Summer. Summer.

4) I'm glad that my church is a Jesus Lovin' church. That it is an honest church. That it is a real church. And that no one pretends to be anything that we're not. We had the Lord's Supper yesterday at church, and it did amazing things for my spirit. Because it wasn't about motions or rituals. It was about wholeness and Jesus. And it doesn't get better than that.

5) I'm glad that my husband is okay with eating pancakes for dinner. Just sayin'.

6) I'm glad that my house is clean. For this 5 minutes.

7) I'm glad that my passport came in the mail on Saturday. Because that means I'm all clear to head out on my big trip with the husband this summer. I still think it is crazy that I had to drop $100 on a passport to go to Canada, but I'm going to just be glad that I get to go. Because it will be fun. And relaxing. And much needed. And because now I'll have my passport all ready to go when the husband decides he needs to whisk me away to Jamaica. Or Barbados. Or Australia. Again. Just sayin'.

8) I'm glad that my parents are in love enough with my 3 rascals that they are actually willing to take them for a whole week while I go on my said trip. Bless my parents' hearts. I've already started praying for them.

9) I'm glad that Keaton doesn't have the Swine Flu. I kid...kinda. He is sick with some whacko virus, and I took him to see the Good Doctor today. Good Doc said we were all clear on the Swine Flu...but, I tend to hold my breath. Because it would be like our family to be the ones that would get something like that. Because that is usually how we roll.

10) I'm glad that my kids use words like "discombobulate" and "enamored" all wrong in sentences. Because I like to giggle.

Gladitude Monday....I'm glad for you.

Happy Birthday to Tate!

I loved your list. Communion is one of my most favorite things. I love that we do it weekly because even if the sermon sucks (it's rare) the communion piece is very redemptive for me.

Hope you have fun celebrating the boy!

Happy 5th Birthday!

And Canada? Near me? Near Seattle, Canada? Or the other end?
For I realize that it's a rather large land mass.

Great picture of you and your son.

We had Communion yesterday, too. Lurve.

I love Canada - We went to Toronto last summer before the kids had to have their passports. $100x3 kids= staying at the Holiday Inn in Mayberry.

I am happy you are happy. (And did the ex-preacher's wife say "suck" on your page? Just checkin')

Happy 5th Birthday to Tate! Five year olds are so much fun, and so much work, in a totally good way. That is a great picture of you two!

I am so thankful for your friendship too, even though it's "virtual" and all. No matter-it won't always be that way!

We have 11 more days of school and they are full of fun things. You're getting me excited about summer, and it is NOT my favorite season. I love flip flops and having my kids home, but that's about it.

I am praying for a church like yours. Someday!

You sure have a lot of fun things on your Glad List! I felt glad just reading it!

That is one cute little boy you have there. You know I have a five year old daughter that may need a husband some day. Just saying.

#1 - Can I pinch those cheeks? Please?

#4 - I hear ya! I love that the first words out of Pastor David's mouth are always "open your bible to___". He is ALL about the word. He wants us to read it, memorize it and pray it right back to God. There must have been something in the air yesterday because communion was great here in Indiana too!

#7 I happen to be friends with a leasing agent in Barbados so when hubby is ready to wisk you off just let me know!

You have lots of gladdies! I loved reading them. Happy Birthday Tater Tot.

Friends are great blessings, aren't they? I'm so thankful for my real life ones and my bloggy ones . . . even those junk food junkie ones . . hee!hee!

Your trip with your man is going to be great. I can't wait to hear about it. Only a mother of 3 would know to go ahead and start praying for the grandparents . . .hee!hee!

Glad for you that you have just a good church. We are in-between churches right now and I HATE it. I miss my church family and I'm lonesome for a church. We're getting closer to finding a church home though.

Glad you guys don't have the swine flu and I love that you are glad that your kiddos use big words in the wrong way - cracks me up too!

What a cutie patootie he is as well as you! I love that pic! Happy 5th Birthday cute boy! :) My daughter will be 5 in October....we need to hook these two up several years from now!LOL

I heart you too even though we have never met! I feel like you are one of my kindred spirits in some ways! It's an awesome feeling!

I don't know if I know this or not,but where do you work? It sounds like you may work at school or something since you talk about summers being off and everything. It must be nice to have so much time off. I love my job, but it is going to be hard once my daughter goes to Pre-K this fall and I work at a bank and my husband has to be at work at 4:30. I hope that we can use this new daycare at the industrial park.

Anyway, as always, I enjoy your posts so much! I look forward to it everyday! :)

What a fun read!

Hope your little guy had a happy birthday...today is my big guys
12th birthday!

I sooo want to put on the brakes and keep these kiddos from growing up and thinking that they can move out on their own or something crazy like that! :)

Just got a "heads up" on your blog from Lori Motl. Looking forward to keeping up with you and yours in this way.

I was at your church yesterday as well. Very meaningful celebration of the Lord's supper.
