My Momma Says It's Nice To Share

"Share!"

The one word that comes out of my mouth more times than "We're eating Fruity Pebbles for dinner again tonight!" -- and we all know how often those words exit my lips.

But I have decided that sometimes sharing is bad. Like today. Just don't tell my kids.

Today sharing and I are in a power struggle. And sharing is winning. And I'm a sore loser.

Today is Tax Day. *shudder* And I just shared a bunch of money with the U.S. government. And it has made me grouchy. I wish that I could write a long commentary here that sounded half-way educated and politically savvy about our need for the abolition of the IRS and flat-taxes....but, c'mon....we all know that I don't know any of that stuff. This is why I have my smart friends.....(Lisa...I need you to tell me how I'm supposed to feel about the IRS...email me!) All I know is that it stunk to high heaven today mailing off our "share"....and I almost threw myself on the floor of the post office and had myself a little fit. Because I don't like to share my toys.

Today is also I Feel Better, Hallelujah! Day. *grin*smile*smile* And I was actually very excited about going back to work and getting back into the swing of things around here. For the first time in a week I woke up without feeling like I was going to throw up everywhere, and I actually could watch the news without there being 6 of Katie Couric. All was well! Until Child #2 (a.k.a. Sawyer) decided to come down with the same wicked virus that I had. What?! Sharing is good....but not when it is sharing germs with your 7 year old. When I found him burning with fever in the middle of the night because I had so graciously "shared" with him....I did throw myself on the floor and had myself a little fit. Because the only thing I want to share with my babies is kisses. Germ free kisses.

BUT...

Because I do know that it is nice to share....sometimes....I thought I would share a couple of things with you!

First is the random knowledge that my refrigerator now smells like boiled eggs. And every time I reach in to snag a soda, I get a whiff of egg. At least they are pretty.

And...yes...I know that is the same picture that I already posted of my pretty stripey eggs...but I didn't really think showing you the inside of my super-gross fridge would be sharing in a good way. So...you're welcome!

Second is a $5 Sonic Card! That's right, kids. A Give-Away! Because although I don't like to share my toys with the IRS, I do like to share with my friends. And I think everyone should get the chance to at least TRY a Pineapple Diet Dr. Pepper! And if I'm buying...then you can't complain! Right? All you have to do is leave me a comment, and then I'll ask one of my smart friends how to do one of those nifty random number picking things!

See....sharing is good! I feel better already.

Amb,
Just so you'll know, let me SHARE this tidbit with you. Each time I stop by Sonic to get Mom a regular Strawberry Shake (her favorite pick me up that I pick her up), since I can't have all that ice cream, I've been ordering a "PINEAPPLE DIET DOCTOR PEPPER"! And do you know what? It's been a good change, and then because there is still pineapple in the bottom under the ice "when I get home", I pour over the ice a cool can of Barq's Diet Root Beer. It's not bad either.
Thanks,
Dad

Ok...we can't do away with the IRS because then E wouldn't have any tax returns to do therefore sending me back to work!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If I win, you can keep it and use it to bring me a couple of cokes to the games :)

You've got a pineapple diet dr pepper coming your way next time!

Ugh! You and Dad!!! I've tried your pineapple whatever and can't say I liked it! I will stick with Mom on this one and order a shake or my fav. Cherry limeade! Yum!

By the way, thanks for the suggestions on my 80's post...if you have any more ideas come your way, let me know!

Love ya! Hope my favorite red headed little boy feels better real soon!!

Wish I had a good answer. I also wish I had done mine before 11:00 last night.

I giggled a little bit every time today I heard about "Tea Parties." That seems so smart and underhandedly rebelious-just like I likes.

Share with me! I promise I'll get a pineapple diet dr. pepper. Or a vanilla diet coke:)

We did our taxes in February! We're nerdy like that!

Well, if you are going to dangle a free sonic drink at me, the you KNOW I'm going to comment! I'm so sorry you've had sharing going on at your house. It's been happening at my house, though I don't think the germs are quite as bad. Just really bad coughs. I am sending you wishes of wellness!

Just so you can see how closely I paid attention to your post today, if I win, I will gladly SHARE my card with someone else since I live too far away to enjoy Sonic.

I'm glad you're feeling better!

Snoodlings can share with me if she wins because I live 10 minutes from one. And if I win, I'll get a Route 44 in her honor.

Thanks for sharing! And remember who gave you the Starbucks card.

Ahem.

Paybacks.

first things first...so happy you're feeling better and hope Sawyer-man feels better quickly!!!

Now, with niceties outta the way..I believe you have TWO family members in the comments, right? That's favoritism if they win, if you give it to Sus it's a coup and Whimzie lives a bazillion miles from Sonic...that may leave just me. I'll email you my address, 'kay and you can forget all that "random number" business!!! :)

Really, how sweet is your Dad??!! He was cracking me up!! I am so intrigued by this Pineapple Concoction, I may just have to TRY it!!!

So sorry you little guy is sick, but so happy you're offering SONIC. I had a really bad craving for Sonic today but realized that a round trip there and back for me is 21 miles. Twenty one. NOT COOL.

Gald you're feeling better, Amber!

We filed an extension...just like always.

That's the second time within a couple of days I've heard about Sonic! I'm sure you're well aware Thailand is lacking in the Sonic department, and I can honestly say I've never been to one in the States. I think that needs to be my first stop on American soil:).

Well, you probably don't know me, but I read your blog all the time and love it! Just so I don't freak you out, we have mutual friends: Jennifer Davis, Kyndra LupPlace, Stephanie Davis, and I have come in contact with Alison Buscher. I would LOVE to win a Sonic card. I live in Gurdon and so that is OUR restaurant.LOL

The IRS is evil. That's how you should feel about it.

I support the FAIR tax. Yes, it's convenient that I no longer rely on the IRS for my livelihood as a tax preparer. Apologies to my former colleagues.

Did I miss the giveaway already?!

I agree with Ginger. Though I don't know her, she sounds like a girl after my own heart. The orange cool breeze is the bestest Sonic drink ever. And I know. I worked there for 4 years.
