I Hate Spinach

My friends are firing me.

As their supportive friend.

Because I'm not being very supportive of their healthy lifestyle change.

And because I'm wallowing in a puddle of self-pity by being the only one left who takes pleasure in an ice cream cone and a BK Stacker (Yum. Bacon.).

So it has come down to two options for me....

1) Become the un-supportive friend that is going to look mighty plumpy and pudgy come swimsuit season. (Which is only 3.5 weeks away for me. Praise Jesus!) Because these are also my peeps that I hang at the lake and pool with. And they are eating baked fish and grilled chicken now. And discussing whey protein. And comparing salad spinners.

OR

2) Let them drag me down with them. Kicking and screaming. But maintain my status as supportive friend.

This is terrible.

I'm such a follower. And I can't stand to miss a party.

Even if the party is serving carrot juice and steamed spinach.

Oh. No.

I'm feeling myself caving.

To the peer pressure.

Dad gum it.

(Go ahead, "anonymous" reader. You know you want to leave me a comment on how glad you are that I'm coming around. That I'm going to stop eating french fries in front of you and tempting your wife with my wily Sonic ways. I triple-dog dare you.)

Boo. I was counting on you to enable me when I want to cheat on my diet. Some friend you are. But what did I expect from the "friend" who bailed out on Pizza Shack when I so desperately needed that cheesy goodness. But you may as well join us...misery loves company!

You are so funny! Well, at least you'll get in shape for swimsuit season. You can pull a reverse on them come the holidays:)

Go with it. The whole world is dieting with swimsuit season around the corner.

If you don't like spinach, just put some cheese on it to kill the leafy taste. Me, I can't stand fried, greasy foods, so diet and "healthy" foods are the norm for me.

But watch out if there is ice cream around! And sadly, eating sherbert is just not the same. sigh.

Fall to the pressure!! Come on girl, if they all go down then you must go down with them!!! Clear your house of all the sugar. Nothing tastes as good as how being skinny feels (which from what I see from your pictures you appear to be a skinnie minnie already)

I love me a good spinach salad - yummy!

I'm glad we're on speaking terms again. I have lots of cute shoes. .. so does that mean I can talk about fitness and eating right, lots?

Remember, muscle=metabolism . . . the more muscle you have the higher your metabolism is (that is why our hubbies can eat more than we girlies can). The whey protein will help to build the muscle when combined with proper exercise (liftin weights). . . Okay, you're set. . . you tell that to your BFFs. . . they will be shocked, in awe, and start singing your praises!!!

Is my hubby your anonymous poster? I did have a coke yesterday and I did have a midnight snack. You will always be our supportive friend....giving us support to break our new found ways :)

By the way....we really need to go swimsuit shopping!

Ok now, first of all, you are NOT fat! Anyone who fits in size 6 pants (mistake size 6 or not) is not fat!!! :-) After all, you're talking to the king of beached whales (at least for a few more days)...then I'll just be a whale out at sea with leftover saggy belly.

I know, join me on my crash diet on a few days when I'll lose about 20 pounds in a day!!! Just have another baby! It's by far the best diet and quickest way to lose weight!!! That's it! Hehe...

Eating healthy is really not too bad. I can't say I just indulge in the spinach world, but dinners for my family usually consist of a healthy meat, a veggie, and occasionally a starchy side. Besides, spinach can be eaten w/o tasting the slimy icky taste by slipping it into certain dishes. Zoe doesn't notice...your boys on the other hand might since they're way older.

Come on...fall to the pressure. You know deep down you wanna... ;-)

Watch The Biggest Loser on TV next week and the following (the finale). Seeing people who have lost 100-150lbs in 17 weeks and how amazing they look will really get you motivated.

You don't have to go all out to get good results. Justin and I have both lost weight but w/out going to the extreme! He simply cut back on how much he eats and cut out soft drinks. He gets his exercise doing yard work.

I started a running clinic 10 weeks ago and I am actually enjoying running....the iPod helps! As for my diet, I started writing down everything I eat each day in a notebook and count the calories. This makes me more of aware how much I eat and helps me cut down on the sweets. My main thing is cutting back and one day a week is free day so I can eat anything I want!

No way will I force myself to eat what I don't like...carrot juice and spinach :( I would never stick w/it and the weight would come back quickly!

You don't have to completely jump on their band wagon...just do what will work for you. Good Luck!

I'm thinking that a swimdress down to my knees will be in order this year! :)

Man! What a bunch of losers!LOL Just kidding! All of them are actually right! I just can't seem to stay with eating right and exercising if I start. I never have time to exercise and eating right....well that just isn't in my vocabulary.LOL I don't mind eating a spinach salad and steamed veggies here and there, but I have to have chocolate and all that other good stuff too that's not good for you. I don't do moderation very well either! Well, I guess I lost a friend before I even met her. Oh well, I understand about having bff's and supporting them and joining them. I have a few of those in my life too. I still hope to meet you someday though! :)

I know a fabulous workout you can try. If it doesn't kill you, you'll lose weight. Of course that will be due to the fact that you can't lift your hand to your mouth but that's just a technicality.

Swimdress??? Bwaahaahaa! That's rich!

I did Jillian's 30 Day Shred this morning. I'm caving to pressure as well.

I may be too sore to type a comment tomorrow.

Alas, I hit the gym yesterday, too. With my fists. Upon the doors. Get.me.outta.here!

To make up for it, I may have had 1/2 a little debbie dessert.

But no wine.

Just whine.

Today, I'm taking the dog for a 2 mile walk. That's about all I can commit to. Plus, it's not raining, and that makes it nearly a holiday around here.

Might as well walk outside until confined to my house with swine flu or some such thing...

I'm afraid to say that I'm right where you are! NO motivation! I will not cave (at least for today)!

But I have to admit, I did research salad spinners earlier today. And spinach is one of my favorite foods. And I made friends with a farmer just so he'll share his food with me.

I hate spinach, too. And it looks like I'm going to be YOUR unsupportive friend who wants nothing to do with it all. For my current workout plan consists of nursing. I'm taking advantage of those extra 500 calories a day being burned (except on the days I CONSUME the extra 500, which is pretty much every day). I guess when the milk dries up I'll have to consider an alternative, but for now I'm not worrying my pretty (chubby) head about it. So if you feel like a bowl of ice cream before bed, chances are I'm having one with ya.

Stand strong!!! Do NOT cave!!! I am your only real friend on here, you realize. I am telling you not to cave. Do not fall to the boot camp pressure.

I guess I shouldn't mention I started running again tonight. Well, my legs were moving in a running motion and I was gasping for air. I actually thought about you while I was running...and caving.
