Pass the Therapy, Please

Slept late this morning. Didn't wake up until 6:00. After nights and nights of waking up at 2:00... felt like Rip Van Winkle.

Got up and decided to wear jeans to school. Not supposed to until Fridays, but decided that since I technically worked all weekend, I was entitled to an early casual day.

Dressed the kids in clothes that didn't stink. Small miracle. The washer hasn't been run since this time last week.

Headed to school. Realized hadn't fed kids breakfast. Stopped at the little grocery store by our house and let the boys eat a Ding Dong. Pinned myself with the Mother-of-the-Year-Award once again.

Made it to school. Late. No big surprise.

Walked through the halls and started getting weepy again about Prom being over. Considered therapy.

Got called out by one of the kids for wearing jeans. Told him to "Step off."

Organized all the Prom decorations in a closet. Got extremely protective over them and decided to request a lock tomorrow. Considered more therapy.

Ate Easy Mac for lunch. Chased it with a piece of leftover Eiffel Tower prom cake. Felt nauseous.

Had lunch duty. Blech.

Had a conversation that made me feel appreciated. Marked therapy off the list.

Picked up the boys. Listened to them whine about being hot. Rolled down the windows and listened to them whine about being cold. Left windows down.

Drove to Sonic. Couldn't find a spot and almost said a bad word. Considered therapy.

Talked to BFF on phone. Marked therapy off list again.

Went to sporting goods store and bought Tate new baseball cleats. Got onto Keaton for juggling baseballs in the store. Considered therapy.

Bought new hair products at WalMart. Marked therapy off list again.

Drove to Sonic and found a spot. Ordered a Pineapple Diet Dr. Pepper and decided that it was good therapy, whether it was needed or not.

Dropped the boys off at baseball practice and came home ALONE....decided that was excellent therapy.

Wrote this post and decided that actual therapy is probably warranted.

You got "Hairapy" That's always good for a boost of two. And Pineapple Diet DP? That's a new one for me. I usually get Vanilla...

And did I tell you about my disastrous date at Sonic with the attorney? I may have to blog about it. I can't go to Sonic without giggling.

Sweetie...there isn't enough therapy in the world for me. I'm in dire need all the time. Or so it seems. The closest Sonic to my house is 15 minutes away. How sad is that?

Amb,
It must run in the family. We've hit on a therapy for Mom whenever we're out - a stop at Sonic for a medium strawberry shake. That is her great leveler! I, too, have therapy through Sonic - I watch in total disbelief their commercials -who writes them? I have come to understand their purpose in not zeroing in on selling their food. The ridiculous dialogue does the trick - you can't get it out of your mind, so you don't need to promote the food (which, incidentally, I like!) Bottom line, they've caught me, mind and stomach. One negatively, and the other positively. For them a good combination. Like, I go back!
Love you,
Dad

I would have loved to have been there when my people pleaser sister told a student off... I think I just marked therapy off my list for the day, they do say laughter is the best medicine.

Love ya!
